I love this!! The colors, the textures, even the size of the scales on the armor! She looks fierce and badass! The embroidery does a great job of breaking up otherwise large shapes and help to draw the eye through the entire piece, and it matches the shield detailing. It’s just one of those pieces I can look at and appreciate for minutes at a time.
For people who want to design good-looking and non-body-fitting armor for ladies, here is an excellent example! Check out the artist’s blog for a variety of cool lady designs.
So this is really awesome! These are Disney princesses reimagined as disabled and drawn with service dogs. The artist, Arien Smith, drew these in 2017, but they have become viral only recently. Arien features all types of dogs in his portrayals as a way to educate about disabilities and service animals. He also does other dog related art. Arien can be found on Facebook under Royal Service Dogs or the major barkana. His website is https://themajorbarkana.com .Hopefully more artists, or, you know, actual major film/tv/book creators begin to incorporate disabilities and service animals rather than pretending like they don’t exist (but that’s a different rant for a different day, 🙃).
Image descriptions: Disney princesses Cinderella, rapunzelle, tiana, sleeping beauty, belle, Snow White, and Pocahontas featured with various disabilities and service dogs of various breeds assisting them in daily lives. The last image in of a Facebook post that features the same pictures, but as line drawings, so they can be colored in.
This is the sweetest shit I’ve ever seen
@themajorbarkana I just saw this again and omg I absolutely adore you guys and your passion. The detailed descriptions of the disabilities and what the service dogs do is so in depth and shows how much you care about service dogs and those who need them. I am so amazed and inspired by your work and your growth. I am also glad that you two created this deck and overall you guys really help me continue on my journey, so thanks and keep doing what you do!🐶🐾💜 (Also I am excited to color your line art after a hard day!)
Oh gosh, we just happened to stumble into this reblog! Thank you so much for all the kind words and we’re SO happy this is inspiring!! Have fun with our line art. 😀
A whole Steven bomb dropped out of nowhere and I could only seem to find clips of it online instead of full episodes. A new character who was introduced was a Garnet. Perfectly split in the middle, with massive hair, wearing all black. She is a sick joke made by White Diamond. Since she didn’t get to see the infamous Garnet fusion she made her own, this Ruby and Sapphire will be shattered if they ever unfuse. For Whites enjoyment only.
I like how she looked like she was dressed for her own funeral.
so uh i might have cried into my pint of ice cream at an entire squad of past elphabas and glindas singing For Good together for the Wicked 15th anniversary concert
We often see the rhetoric “she’s a magic-user, she can’t/doesn’t have to wear armor” as defense for bikini armor, so this week we have some mage ladies who are dressed for action. They’re not wearing full plate or anything, but they have very practical outfits, each in their own distinct style.
This is Carabel (top) and Gislan (bottom) from the game Nine Parchments, a co-op game about magic students going on an adventure together. The character roster also includes a cat and a robot owl, of course.
Carabel specializes in ice magic, and I think that everything about her design really illustrates that. Gislan, meanwhile, likes nature magic, and her design similarly informs that. Neither lady is put in a bikini to showcase their magic roots, because there’s simply no need.
I recommend you guys check out the art of Nine Parchment’s art director, Charlotta Tiuri, who designed these lovely ladies, for character sheets and other cool projects.
the legend of the Bakeneko is important to fully understand this!! The legend says that if a cat lives a very very long life, its tail will slowly split into two, and it will reach the status of a minor god!! … the downside is that its spirit will inevitably outlive its owners, whose spirits will move on to the afterlife, and without anyone to leave food offerings for it, it will become an angry and vengeful beast that haunts its home.
This man has two bakeneko following him. two cats that were well cared for and lived long lives, who now watch over him.
I wasn’t familiar with this particular myth, it’s really fucking cool!
I think the least believable part of the Harry Potter novels is the idea that all these feathery quills and pet cats are getting along in perfect harmony. Let me tell you, J.K. Rowling, not a thing would get done at Hogwarts!
